Biography

Prof. Dr. Ersin Tan

Born in Ankara, Turkey. Completed primary, secondary and high school education at TED Ankara College, then graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1982. Served as Head Physician at Sivas Hafik Health Center and the Sivas Central Tuberculosis Dispensary from 1982 to 1984.

Completed neurology residency training at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine Department of Neurology between 1984 and 1990, followed by two years of post-doctoral work at the Ohio State University Department of Neurology. Promoted to Associate Professor in 1992 and full Professor in 1999.

Author of numerous scientific articles published in international peer-reviewed journals. See the publications page for the full list.

Served as President of the Turkish Neurological Society from 2011 to 2015.

Member of the American Academy of Neurology, Peripheral Nerve Society, World Muscle Society and Turkish Neurological Society.
